About TownScore

TownScore is a community platform for discovering, comparing, reviewing, and discussing settlements. It combines public settlement information, map data, community feedback, ratings, resident verification, and polls to help people understand local places through both data and lived experience.

02

Using TownScore means accepting these terms

By accessing or using TownScore, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Additional policies, including the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form part of these terms where they apply.

03

Accounts and age

Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and be responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account unless a higher age requirement applies in your country.

Registration
accurate name, valid email address, secure password
Minimum age
16 years old unless local law requires otherwise
Security
you are responsible for keeping account access secure
04

Fair use

You may use TownScore only for lawful, respectful, and honest participation. You must not misuse the platform, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass verification or voting controls, scrape data in a harmful way, impersonate others, or submit information you know is false or misleading.

05

Profiles, scores, and rankings

TownScore displays settlement profiles, ratings, rankings, maps, images, public-data fields, and community signals. Scores and rankings may be based on user ratings, verified resident participation, review counts, categories, and other product logic. Public records and open-source data may be incomplete or change over time, so the platform should be used as an informational service rather than an official registry.

06

Community contributions

You are responsible for the reviews, ratings, comments, images, reports, and other content you submit. Your contributions must be lawful, relevant, and based on genuine experience or good-faith community participation. We may moderate, hide, edit for formatting, restrict, or remove content that violates these terms, community rules, legal requirements, or platform integrity standards.

You retain ownership
your original content remains yours
Licence to operate
you grant us permission to host, display, moderate, translate, and distribute your content as needed to run TownScore
Not allowed
harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, fraud, unlawful content, doxxing, impersonation, or knowingly false information
07

Verified residence

Certain polls, resident signals, or weighted community features may require verified residence in a settlement. Verification is intended to protect local participation and reduce manipulation. We may approve, reject, review manually, revoke, or repeat verification where necessary to protect the integrity of the service.

Purpose
confirm settlement eligibility for resident-only features
Review
automated checks and authorised manual review may be used
Outcome
verification may affect voting eligibility, review weighting, or resident badges
08

Verification uploads

When you upload a utility bill, official correspondence, lease-related document, or similar proof for residence verification, you confirm that you have the right to submit it, that it is accurate, and that it has not been forged or altered. You must not upload any government-issued identification document or identifier, including passports, national identity cards, driving licences, social security numbers, tax identification numbers, national insurance numbers, or any other government-issued identification number or document. If such information appears in a file, do not submit it. We process uploaded files only for residence verification, restrict access to authorised review processes, and delete the original uploaded file after the verification review is complete. We may keep a minimal record of the verification result for audit, fraud-prevention, and compliance purposes, but not the original file.

Good examples
utility bills, internet bills, official correspondence, bank or insurance letters, tenancy or residence-related documents
Never upload
government-issued IDs, passports, identity cards, driving licences, tax IDs, social security or national insurance numbers, and similar identifiers
Required
documents must be accurate, unaltered, relevant to residence verification, and submitted by someone with the right to provide them
Deletion
original uploaded files are deleted after verification review is complete
09

Polls and votes

Polls are designed to reflect eligible participation, especially where residence verification is required. Unless a poll states otherwise, each verified residence or eligible account may participate according to the displayed rules. We may use technical and account-based controls to prevent duplicate voting, manipulation, automated abuse, or suspicious activity.

Eligibility
some polls require verified residence
Fairness
duplicate, automated, fraudulent, or suspicious votes may be rejected or removed
Results
poll results are shown in aggregate where possible
10

Reporting problems

You may report reviews, comments, profiles, or other content that appears inaccurate, abusive, unlawful, or against the rules. We may investigate reports, take no action, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or preserve records where needed for safety, legal, or audit reasons.

11

Ownership and third-party material

The TownScore service, including its original design, code, branding, copy, and custom features, is owned by or licensed to Inline Studio Ltd. or iSTUDIO Group Hungary Kft. The platform may also include third-party or open-licence materials, including images from Wikimedia Commons, data from Wikidata, and map functionality or map data from third-party providers. Those materials remain governed by their own licences and attribution requirements.

12

Product changes

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, rankings, categories, verification methods, polls, or parts of the service. We may also limit access to protect users, comply with law, respond to abuse, fix technical issues, or preserve platform integrity.

13

No guarantees

TownScore is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for every purpose. Settlement data, scores, reviews, maps, images, and rankings are informational and should not be treated as official government records or professional advice.

14

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inline Studio Ltd. and iSTUDIO Group Hungary Kft. are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or loss-of-profit damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, TownScore. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

15

TownScore may contain links to third-party websites, public records, map providers, image sources, or external references. These links are provided for convenience and attribution. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or terms.

16

Updates

We may update these Terms of Service as the product, law, or operational needs change. The updated date on this page shows the latest revision. Continued use of TownScore after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

17

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Hungary. Disputes connected with these terms are subject to the competent Hungarian courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply in your country of residence. For users in the United Kingdom, statutory rights under English law are not affected.
